There are some people who treat others like vending machines. They can see something they
want and just yank and yank on the knobs, demanding it – often without putting anything in.

“I need a contact, referrals, help with a press release, give me a phone number, review my
proposal, review my marketing materials, call someone for me, come to this, come to that!” On
and on.

Translates to “I want the full benefit of your 40 years of work, relationships and reputation – for
my agenda.”

Under the guise of friendship, they’ll yank you empty. And some of us will just give all of that as
a gift for a stretch.

But then…

…the day comes when they yank and nothing happens. Like nothing. And they get all mad and
label you difficult.

But lord a woman just gets tired.
