Statewide Flood Plan

A plan is a great foundation for action.

“The plan drew public scrutiny earlier this summer for leaving out the term “climate change” and failing to factor in modeling that could predict how rising sea levels or future rainfall would affect flood zones.”

For years now some folks have fought to keep from mentioning “climate change” because it was synonymous with “blame petrochem industry”. We’re a long way past who should be blamed and need to focus on what to do.

When my sister was little and she wanted to escape the backyard without permission, she would cover her own eyes and march down the driveway, peeking through her fingers, in full view of everyone in the house.

This is Texas. Covering our own eyes. Marching along. Let’s bring that to an end. We can face this and do what can be done.

Love,
Angela
